Quigley down under ending

From fanaticism to barbarism is only one step. The question in my mind is how many additional American casualties is Saddam worth? And the answer is not very damned many. About the quote : Speaking to the Discovery Institute after the first Gulf War, on 8/14/1992, when he was Secretary of Defense. Death has a tendency to encourage a depressing view of war. There are a lot of people who lie and get away with it, and thats just a fact. Peace has to be created, in order to be maintained. It will never be achieved by passivity and quietism. the product of Faith, Strength, Energy, Will, Sympathy, Justice, Imagination, and the triumph of principle. It is not the fact of quigley down under ending but the way in which liberty is exercised that ultimately determines whether liberty itself survives. Dress it as we it, and sing swaggering songs about it, what is war, nine times out of ten, but murder in uniform? The best defense is no offense. We must pursue peaceful end through peaceful means. Rules of engagement are a set of guidelines for murder. Conflict cannot survive without your participation. Nothing except a battle lost can be half as melancholy as a battle won. We must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. Disarmament, with mutual honor and confidence, is a continuing imperative. May we never confuse honest dissent with disloyal subversion. This world of avoid becoming a community of dreadful fear and hate, and be, instead, a proud confederation of mutual trust and respect. There is no glory in battle worth the blood it costs. Together we must learn how to compose difference, not with arms, but with intellect and decent purpose. We will bankrupt ourselves in the vain search for absolute security. We seek peace, knowing that peace is the climate of freedom. You cant have this kind of war. There just arent enough bulldozers to scrape the bodies off the streets. When people speak to you about a preventive war, you tell them to go and fight it. After my experience, I have come to hate war. I think that people want peace so much that one of these days government had better get out of their way and let them have it. I hate war as only a soldier who has lived it can, only as one who has seen its brutality, its futility, its stupidity. How far can you go without destroying from quigley down under ending what you are trying to defend from without? Preventive war was an invention of Hitler. Frankly, I would not even listen to anyone seriously that came and talked about such a thing. The time not to become a father is eighteen years before a war. Wisdom is better than weapons of war. I venture to say no war can be long carried on against the will of the people.
